The Health Food Safety Division was established by the City of Pharr to protect and safeguard its citizens’ health related issues.
This division is responsible for conducting inspections of restaurants, locations that sell or provides foods, and/or drinks to the general public, adult day care centers, child day care locations, foster homes, Bingos, school cafeterias, small food manufacturers, nutrition centers, bars, liquor stores, and other related establishments. The Health Food Safety Division issues Health Permits to approved sites, provides food handlers classes, and carries out necessary action in the enforcement of the Health Ordinance for City of Pharr regarding food service establishments

To protect the health and safety of the community through education and enforcement of the City’s Health Ordinances and the Food Establishment Regulations.
